Abundant Life Church of Christ was founded by pastor Tola Ten and Sopheap Chhay and established itself as a Cambodian Christian church in the heart of Springvale in October 2020. Tola graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Theology from the University of Divinity with Stirling Theological College as the main campus for theological studies. Pastor Tola continues to study with the University of Divinity pursuing further theological studies and training as part of ministry formation. Tola was born with a rare form of neurological disease known as Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a muscle wasting disease. Despite pastor Tola's physical disability, God's calling upon Tola's life has establish a Cambodian community church. For the past 17 years, Tola has committed to serving the local church in Springvale firstly with New Life Ministry. In 2012, Tola joined Springvale South Church of Christ and served the local church for 8 years before establishing Abundant Life Church of Christ, a Cambodian community church in Greater Dandenong. Sopheap's role focuses on leading the worship ministry and our Cambodian ladies life group ministry. Together with Sopheap they have been blessed with four children - Ryan, Rachel, Rebecca and Reuben who are also serving in worship ministry and children's ministry.
Chris Jung Family & Children's Pastor
Pastor Chris (Myeong Hun) Jung and Sulgi Lee joined Abundant Life Church of Christ in May 2021 after serving as missionaries in the Philippians in 2019. Pastor Chris graduated with a Masters in Divinity with the University of Divinity with Stirling Theological College as the main campus. Since coming back to Melbourne, pastor Chris and Sulgi have a passion for cross cultural ministry and together they saw the vision and mission of Abundant Life Church as God's calling to serve the Cambodian Community in the heart of Springvale. Pastor Chris role at ALCOC is to oversee the English Speaking Congregation grow and mature in their faith and to empower their God-given gifts in order to fulfil the vision and mission of ALCOC. Sulgi oversees the children's ministry at Abundant Life Church and coordinates children's program every Sunday afternoon. Together with Sulgi Lee, they are blessed with three beautiful children - Hana, Hanul, and Hajun.
